I will miss you all so dearly, but...

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Hence the title, I am leaving for vacation. But lucky for me, Hannah from Aspire, Bleah from With Love and Kisses and Katie from {Raindrops (on) Roses}, and one or two more, are going to guest post on my blog while I am gone! I will miss you all, but here are a couple of consolatory pictures...

And this last one is edited, just because I couldn't resist...

Aren't they so fun?? Well, I will miss you all dearly, but I guess this is goodbye...

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

okay, today for miscellany monday, i decided to do it "carissa style" i am going to do it all lowercase, because this is carissa's meme, and she does all lowercase. :)

i have begun to do my smily faces like this: : ) instead of this: :) what do you think?

i woke up this morning to find a rather large spider in the toilet. so, instead of being a big girl and cleaning it up, i quickly departed the bathroom, and used another one. : )

i haven't been making a ton of barbie clothes recently - with equals "not-so-interesting" posts. or do you like hearing a bunch of random stuff? please tell me - i really want to know if i am boring your socks off, or making you so happy with my posts. : )

i can never think of enough miscellanious things to write on miscellany monday. and often, i will think of something the day before, and then completely forget about it on monday. *sigh*

i always get up as early as possible (without being extremely tired) and do my miscellany monday post. i do this because i like to have it done and "out of the way" so to speak, but i really enjoy doing them anyway. i just like to be finished, and be able to look at them. *sigh if delight*

i am planning on making my wedding dress the same style as marianne's in the 1996 sense and sensibility. oh, how i love that dress...

ok, that's it guys and girls who are reading this post. now head on over to carissa's and link up!

Black - goth, or what??

Saturday, July 24, 2010

Hey guys! Just wanted to share with you my opinion on dark clothing/nail polish.

My question: Is all black goth, or can you wear some black and still be happy??

My answer: It really depends on how much black you are wearing. For example - if you don't have white or blue nail polish, and you are wearing white and blue. So, you wear black. Personally, I think that is fine. But when you wear a black nail polish on both fingers and toes, a black skirt, a long-sleeved black shirt, you dye your hair black/neon pink, etc. then that is most definitely goth. See the difference?

Problem: You are going to a funeral, and don't want to wear white, (for the obvious reasons), but you don't want to look to dark and depressing. What do you do?

Solution: Wear a nice, simple black outfit. If you are not keen on block, try gray, grey-blue, or dark/navy blue. For nail polish (of course, you want to look your best, so you paint your nails) try either on of the said colors, or white. If you are going with a black outfit, I suggest that you wear white or red (deep maroon is really beautiful) to keep a balance of letting go of that lost friend, but mourning them too. For the shoes, try to go with simple flats - high-heels (if you are of age) make it seem like your spirits are as high as your shoes. Lastly, for hair, I personally think anything would look good - just nothing too fancy.

THIS is what inspires me...

Hey guys! I know, I know, I already posted today, but I couldn't resist joining in this - (of)Horse Feathers is having a photography contest! Okay, Olive Tree, here are my photos.

First of all, I did not edit them. Secondly, these inspire me in this way:

roses are just gorg. the end. :)

That is simply it. Roses inspire me to write poems, draw pictures, dance all around the house, and most importantly, love. So the above poem is something I wrote on the spot, just because of my seeing my pictures. Thanks for doing this, Olive Tree!!!!!!

Guess what? Not only do I have enough followers to host a giveaway, (I should have told you that earlier) but I have a new update on our regency gowns! Ok, so I have finished my chemise, and I have also cut out the fabric for the short stays. Today, we will begin sewing the short stays. Here are some pics I took:

The full length view of the chemise

and the neckline. : )

That's it friends! Stay tuned for more updates, and pictures!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
Hey guys! Once again, it is time for miscellany monday. Ok, let's see what miscelanious things I can think up!

{1}If you ever asked me what my favorite pastime is, I would say reading. Reading is my life! Just last week, I did a challenge to see if I could read 400 minutes in three weeks (easy) and I finished the 400 minutes in 3 days. :)

{2} Please tell me if you used my "I could sit and read all day button" - I would love to know!

{3} Should I post more about sewing, or would you just like to hear random news, tags, awards,... please comment!

{4} I am getting a makeover by the lovely Brianna of The Boutique Window, and it is almost finished!! I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!

{5} I am writing a new story, but I can't decide what to name the main character. (she is a girl) Ideas??

Ok, guys. Click on the button, which will take you over to Carissa's. So go on over, and link up!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

It's time for Miscellany Monday once again! Here we go:

{1} no matter how hard I try, I cannot remember the two miscellanious things that I had thought of for miscellany monday today!

{2} I love to get up early in the morning for my miscellany monday post. Surprise, surprise, I am up at seven this morning, instead of my usual 6:15 (like in the last miscellany monday post). But no matter what time I get up, *says sarcastically* I do not get up, just to be the one of the first miscellany monday-ers. That is totally not me!

{3} I love to go outside on a lovely, misty wet morning, and watch the sun rise. OR, even better, to watch the clouds, grey and melancholy, to move, and make way for a late morning sunshine.

{4} If I could snap my finger and appear in the place I wanted to go, I would go to Carmel, CA. *sigh* the lovely, cool, breezes, the type of beach where you do not wear a bathing suit, and where you don't go into the icy cold water. If you have never been to Carmel, CA I highly reccomend it. If you think: "Oh, she is crazy to like a cold beach like that! Oh, I would much prefer a warm, sunny florida beach." Then you obviously don't like rain and dampness. Also, you probably don't prefer a maryland beach over that either, do you?

{5} Time and time again, I fail to remember to tell you this:

There are no two ways about it. If you don't like cheese, (especially extra sharp, new york, white cheddar) then there must be something seriously wrong with you *giggles because she knows you know that she is joking about the fact that there is something wrong with you* But seriously,

*an eye* *heart* *piece of cheese*
And that's it.

{6} One time I had a dream that I ate an electric biscuit, and because in that dream I was "allergic to electricity" I got zapped. yup. I remember seeing myself black as coal all over, hair sticking on end... (yes, in my dreams, I sometimes see myself doing the things that happen in my dreams. Was I the only one who understood that?)

that's it, bloggers!! Now go over to Carissa's and link up!!

Just one little reminder...

Hey guys! You want to have some fun? Click here  to go to Miss Lizzy Rose's blog party/giveaway! Yes, that's right I said blog party AND giveaway! This two in one special is for the whole month of July, so you have plenty of time to be  entered in both.

(don't forget to put this button up if you are entering in either the blog party, giveaway, or both)
Here are the questions for the blog party...

  • Have you ever run outside during a rainstorm (and if so, please describe it)? yes, one time we were on the way home from wlgreens (we had walked, for it was only a short distance from our house), and the heavens opened up, and it began to rain. At first it was 'a tragedy', but as we neared home, we grew excited and began to nearly dance! When we arrived home, instead of running inside for dear life (this was just rain, no thunder or lightening) we stayed outside as long as possible, and got very wet. :)
  • What is your favorite Sense & Sensibility version: 2008 or 1995? 1995, by all means!
  • Do you keep a journal (and if so, how many have you filled)?yes, I do keep a journal, and I a in the process of filling my 3rd one.
  • What is your favorite thing about summer? spring rain, going to the pool, warm weather, not having to bundle up... (was I supposed to do only one?)
  • What is your favorite classical song? I like a lot of classical music, but my currant favorite is either "Butterfly Waltz" by Brian Crian, or "Hymn To The Sea" from the Titanic soundtrack.
  • It's your wedding day. And while you are going down the aisle (gracefully, of course), the audience suddenly bursts into singing "How Do You Solve A Problem Like ____ (your name)?" What are your emotions? My Emotions: Uh oh! Am I really a problem? And if I am, why do they have to sing this at my wedding? (haha!)
  • What is your favorite scene in Sense and Sensibility? Is the same scene in the movie(s) (and if so, do you like it as well)? My favorite scene is when Marianne falls and Mr. Willougby rescues her. And yes, it is in both movies.
  • Which of Jane Austen's books is your favorite? Why? I don't know - I am reading Northanger Abbey and really like it, but I am not sure if it is my favorite. If not, my favorite is Sense and Sensibility.
  • Describe your perfect reading "nook": The space between my bed and the window, in my bedroom.

  • Have you ever been accused of reading a book when you were supposed to be doing chores? *says sarcastically* No! That is totally not me! I would never do that! Of course not, why would I ever do that?!
  • You are on the beach, and you are wearing normal clothes (NOT a bathing suit). Do you consider jumping into the cold ocean anyway? Of course! I love a good swim...maybe...as long as the water is not to cold!
  • Do you consider yourself a matchmaker like Emma? No.
  • What do you like best about my blog? What do you think is the worst? (It's always good to get feedback, so I know what to change and what to keep!) The best thing about your blog is that you love reading and literature, much like myself. The worst thing about your blog is...well, there is no 'worst thing'. (and i mean that there is no worst thing about your blog - not that the worst thing about your blog is that here is no worst thing about our blog. do you catch my drift,  Lizzy?)
  • What are your opinions involving letters: short and brief or long and lovely? Long and Lovely!
  • What Scripture verse has encouraged you a lot recently? Psalm 23
  • Do you consider yourself an artist? If so, in what way? No,not really.
  • What interests you in a blog: beautiful layout or good content? both, really.
  • Do you believe in saving your first kiss for your wedding day? Hmm, I believe you should practise a little before your wedding day. ;)
  • What are your opinions involving modesty? In the words of Bleah, you can wear nice clothes, but don't show everything God gave you. Leave a little to the imagination, at least. :-)
  • Did you enjoy answering all these questions? Yes!
Ok guys! Now all you have to do is copy and paste the above questions, delete my answers, and write your own. Then, go to: http://lizzyslovelylibrary.blogspot.com, and post a comment on this post to tell her that you entered. Also, you must abide by these rules...
