yep, time for yet another round of BP. and I will admit it - I'm in love with these things.

So Tarquin is just one of those characters. You know, those characters who are supposed to make you hate them, and you end up having loads of fun with them? Anywho...

Do they have any habits, annoying or otherwise?
Tarquin is a habitual sort of person. Every day, he has his routine that he goes through. Waking up, eating breakfast, getting dressed, etc. It all must be in order, for his sanity's sake.

What is their backstory and how does it affect them now?
Tarquin was born the son of a sailor, and lived his life on the sea, until he was six years old. At that point, the ocean was too much, and he despised it. He ran away from the two, leaving them devasted, for the mountains. He lives in the mountains still, though the kind, elderly couple have since then deceased. Tarquin still despises the sea.
 How do they show love?
Very, very forcefully. And maybe a little demandingly. But in his heart, Tarquin loves passionately.

How competitive are they?
Tarquin is very competitive. In fact, despite my competitive-ness, I wouldn't want to have to stand against him. He's very...assertive.

What do they think about when nothing else is going on?
A question that has always bothered Mr. Cromwell is what he will do when it is all over. Since his sole purpose in life is to become rich without working, and he assumes it will work though even I don't know if it will yet, Tarquin wonders about the future. So he's rich...what comes next? He likes to daydream about all the luxuries he will have, how he won't have to be bothered by those around him unless he wants to, etc.

Do they have an accent?
Tarquin has a slight middle-eastern accent that is so seldom identified that one could simply call it "foreign".

What is their station in life?
If by this you mean social status, his is aloof. Though he certainly isn't unnoticed (anyone who doesn't socialize among a social town is made a study of) Tarquin is not the most popular either. He is quiet and self-consumed. He is more of a town curiosity than a town jewel.

What do others expect from them?
Those around him at first expected him to be more talkative, to consort with them more, but after time it became apparent he wasn't to be trifled with.

Where were they born, and when?
As stated above, Tarquin was born on a boat to a sea captain's wife, 22 years before you are introduced to him in the story.

How do they feel about people in general?

Suspicious, of course. You never can trust them, unstable species they are. Excepting the simplest of them. Those, in fact, are predictable.

Cope with it, Adair, and realize that this world is not perfect. So what do we do? We don’t try to be perfect, we try to make the best of this world. Have as much fun as we can before we die, so that we can leave this life satisfied. - Tarquin Cromwell, Winter Wings
