Jamberry Nail Wraps Review + Giveaway!

Monday, August 10, 2015

I've always been a lover of nail polish - mostly pastels and dark, winter colors - but then, I love a good bright summer shade as well. I don't have the strongest of nails, and I do use my hands a lot, so finding a polish that lasts a week on these hands is quite a feat! That being said, I do have a handful of favorite shades (let me know if you're interested in hearing more on this front!) but when I was contacted by an affiliate of Jamberry to do a review for their nailwraps, I was pretty happy about it.

The concept is this: a nail wrap that lasts longer than normal nail polish, without peeling up or tearing. To test this, I wore one nail wrap on each hand, alongside a normal polish. I didn't end up using one of my best-lasting shades simply because it didn't match the wrap I was using; however, the blue (Revlon Colorstay Gel Effects Nail Polish) has decent wear time under normal conditions.

After 7 days, the wraps definitely looked cleaner and neater than the nail polish. There were no chips or tears, and because the patterns are seamless, the slight peeling at the edge by the last day was hardly noticeable. I work at a cafe, so I'm constantly cooking and washing dishes, so the holdup was pretty remarkable - and the colors and prints available are beautiful! Removal was a simple matter of nail polish remover to soften the plastic, and they peeled off easily from there.
If you're still unsure about the nail wrap concept, check out the giveaway below: win a free set of Jamberry pedicure wraps to give them a try! And who doesn't want free nail designs? :)

  1. So funny you posted this now because just last week I tried Jamerberry for the first time! It was just a sample so I did just one accent nail and used polish on the rest...great minds think alike, ya know! Anyway, I am super impressed (mine helded up about a week but I was not easy on them...several hair washed and pool water pretty much every day). I just ordered several sheets for vacation...being in Disney for two weeks there won't be much time for polish but I like to have fun nails for vacation!

    1. Brilliant! Great minds definitely think alike. ;)
That's a good plan to get a few packs for vacation - nothing like a bit of red polka dotty action for Disney!

  4. I am excited about Jamberry nail wraps too, because they don't have an oder and therefore less chemicals - YES! Plus the chipping business. . . hmm. Also I still get messy with putting nail polish on my right hand :P. I was so excited that Jamberry is coming to Australia. Hurrah!! :)

I love the grapefruit, kiss me ombre, pixie, mint green chivron, haute pink (glossy), orchid ombre, diamond dust sparkle, and athens (glossy) - so pretty!

I'd love to know what your favourite nail-polish colours are!!

  5. Ooh, those are pretty! And it looks like a pretty neat idea, too. I hardly ever do my fingernails because they rarely last more than a few days (a week tops). I use my hands a lot at home and at work, so having durable wraps sounds great. :) Favorites, you ask? Well, from a quick perusal, I'd say Atlantis, Berry Sparkler, Grapefruit, and Happily Every After.

  6. Oooh! Those are pretty. :D I've been working on designing a full sheet of accent nails that I want to buy sometime, and pair with nail polish like you've done.

  9. I'm impressed your job lets you wear nail polish and such. I work in a coffeehouse, and as far as I know it's not allowed. Which is a huge sadness because otherwise I'd love to wear jamberries for weeks on end.
